Red Polls in a Dairy Herd


As a dual purpose animal the Red Poll is almost the last native British breed to produce an outstanding cross, examples of which are shown below. It gives hybrid vigour with the ability to raise the butterfat percentage in commercial herds, and all the other advantages of the breed. Cheese makers also continue to make use of the Red Poll's excellent milk from specialist herds.
