We began the Park Gate herd of Red Poll cows back in 2006, grazing our pasture in the Essex village of Pleshey. In recent years the cattle have been spending their summers on the ancient plains of nearby Hatfield Forest as part of a conservation project run by the National Trust. This enables us to grow enough hay to feed over the winter, giving us the status of 100 % grass fed beef. Just as nature intended.
