This is a relatively new show to the Society, and I have to say I was very pleased to have been asked to judge it.
Ther were 14 animals forward from four exhibitors, all of which were a credit to the breed and their owners.
The first class was for females in calf and of the three animals forward, Louise Leese’s Chorlton Lane Lavender stood out for me. The second class was for females in milk, Terry and Helen Mancey’s Moreton Lady Kenya tipped the scales in what I thought was a strong class of four. The third class for heifers was even stronger, six forward with John Williams’s Pinguis Poppy 2nd taking top spot, although the top three in that class would have done anyone proud in a group class.
Only one young bull forward in Pinguis Nicholas, who looks to be growing into a fine specimen of a Red Poll.
My champion was Moreton Lady Kenya and reserve Pinguis Nicholas, and a huge thank you to Leek Show for putting on a great show and to all the exhibitors for bringing out such good animals .
